Here is some free software for Windows that I enjoy:

• Paint.net – photo editing
• CDBurnerXP – burn CD’s and DVD’s
• WinDirStat – little app that shows you the size of your folders (very useful if you’re trying to clean out your hard drive)
• Crimson Editor – editor for looking at software source code, HTML, XML, etc.
• EverNote – note program where you can capture notes and tag them
• FreeMind – mind-mapping application (a great brainstorming application)
