When I try to explain how to play Carcassonne to friends who haven’t played before, or when I play and it’s been a while, I’m always frustrated that the game (which is great) doesn’t include a simple scoring summary, and instead I have to reread the rulebook and remind myself of all the rules. I love that modern GenAI (in this case Google Gemini 3 Pro) is good enough that I can simply prompt:
Please create a nice one page graphic that shows the scoring rules for the game Carcassonne
And without links to the game’s instruction manual or any other context, it determines the game and creates a graphic in a similar style to the game’s design style. This is one of those tasks that I wouldn’t invest the time to do, but AI reduces the effort down to a level where it’s a trivial exercise!
I then used a few clarifying prompts, to make it look just like I wanted:
Please revise it to have a table-like format showing points during the game and at the end of the game, and emphasize the rules and not an example of scoring
Please update the graphic to add a note that 2-tile cities are only worth 2 points.
Here is the initial graphic:

FYI: Board game nerd clarification: As part of this, I realized that the scoring has evolved over the years from farmers scoring 4 points per completed city at the end of the game to 3 points, and the special scoring for 2-tile cities went away in the later editions.
Here’s the current version:
